Wheaton, Ill., Feb. 14, 2014—Two veteran insurance product professionals have been named to leadership positions at a national insurance association.
The American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS) has announced the appointments of Rich Yocius, FCAS, MAAA, vice president of actuarial services and chief actuary, and John Kadous, CPCU, CPM, vice president of personal lines.
AAIS is a property/casualty advisory organization that develops policy forms and rating information for more than 25 programs of personal, commercial, agricultural, and inland marine insurance. More than 700 P/C carriers throughout the U.S. use forms and/or manuals maintained by AAIS.
Rich Yocius comes to AAIS with more than 29 years of experience in insurance, most recently as managing vice president and chief actuary for personal lines for Tower Group. Prior to that, he served as vice president for analytics at Allstate. He will be based in AAIS's offices in suburban Chicago.
“I am excited about the opportunity to join this outstanding leadership team,” Yocius says. “I look forward to building on AAIS's already strong actuarial and analytical capabilities, including development of refined approaches to rating and providing consulting services to member companies.
John Kadous has more than 26 years of experience in insurance, most recently as an underwriting director and product management director with USAA. He will be working from Texas.
“AAIS is a unique entity that provides valuable products and services tailored to its member companies,” Kadous says. “With its new underwriting platform and expanded data resources, AAIS is well positioned to help insurers become more competitive.”
Kadous will be working with Deborah Summerlin, AAIS's current vice president of personal lines, in a transition that will conclude with her retirement at the end of June after 35 years with AAIS.
Kadous, Yocius, and Summerlin will all be at the 2014 AAIS Main Event conference, April 6-8 in Hilton Head Island, S.C. The conference is open to P/C professionals from all organizations, whether they are members of AAIS or not.
