California Issues Mandatory Moratorium on Policy Cancellations and Non-Renewals
On August 15, 2022, the California Department of Insurance (CDI) issued Bulletin 2022-11 regarding a mandatory moratorium on residential property insurance policy cancellations and non-renewals after the declaration of a state of emergency.
California Governor Gavin Newsom issued a state of emergency proclamation on July 30, 2022 for the following wildfires covering Siskiyou County: (1) the McKinney Fire; and (2) the China 2 and Evans Fires.
