Michigan Makes Annual Adjustments to Maximum Work Loss and Survivors' Loss Benefits
The Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services has published Bulletin 2022-16-INS to establish the annual adjustments for the maximum work loss benefit and the maximum survivors' loss benefit payable under personal protection insurance policies. Each adjustment becomes effective on October 1, 2022 and only applies to benefits arising out of accidents occurring after the date of change in the maximum.
The new work loss and survivors’ loss benefit payable, effective October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023, shall not exceed $6,615 per single 30-day period. This maximum shall apply pro rata to any lesser period of work loss.
