Oklahoma Omnibus Bill Enacted

Oklahoma Senate Bill1485 has been enacted. Among other things, this bill revises the number of days after receipt of a properly executed proof of loss by which the first party claimant must be advised of the acceptance or denial of the claim by the insurer, or if further investigation is necessary, from 45 to 60 days. It also revises the number of days after receipt of a proof of loss by which the insurer must submit a written offer of settlement or rejection of the claim to the insured from 90 to 60 days. The new law takes effect November 1, 2018.
