IT Infrastructure and Security Administrator

Purpose

The IT Infrastructure and Security Administrator is responsible for the daily administration of AAIS’s IT infrastructure and ensuring its security. This position requires knowledge of server operating systems, user and identity access management, network architecture, and cyber security best practices. Responsibilities include the installation, administration, upgrading, maintaining, and testing of network hardware and software systems. This role is vital to the organization’s daily activities and performance by ensuring systems and operations are working efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technical programs to deliver IT projects and services.
  • Manage IT services suppliers’ service deliveries and the quality of their services.
  • Manages business network, perimeter security, and firewall.
  • Architect and manage Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Linux based infrastructure solutions.
  • Ensure IT end user infrastructure services meet the uptime and reliability service level agreement (SLA).
  • Ensure IT services meet business continuity requirements.
  • Provide system administration support for resources deployed within AWS tenants, including Linux, Window, Relational Database Services (RDS) and similar.
  • Provide administrative and technical support for laptops (Window Client, IOS).
  • Provide hands-on support of vulnerabilities management and Identity Access Management (IAM) & Integration.
  • Monitor the health of all AAIS systems. Resolve problems with service providers and AAIS internal teams.
  • Perform cybersecurity risks analysis and threat hunting.
  • Responsible for security event management as a first responder, coordinating situation assessment and immediate response. Responsible for coordinating remediation, testing, and release of systems back into production following an event.
  • Responsible for all office based and Cloud hosted asset management, including procurement, configuration, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Establish systems configurations, operational, and maintenance procedures according to industry best practices and pre-established guidelines.
  • Implement security policies and configurations for desktops, servers, firewalls, and other network devices.
  • Plan and implement routine upgrades, including documentation of configurations and communication to stakeholders on potential impacts.
  • Ensure all systems maintain compliance with SSAE16 attestations and NAIC audits.
  • Provide reports of monitoring, asset status, and expenses for all information technology.
  • Stay current with information technology platforms, directions, and upgrade paths.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or requested.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of AWS, Linux Operation System (OS), and more than one of Linux based Opensource solutions.
  • Strong MS Window working knowledge, including Window OS and SQL server, Active Directory, and Window File Service.
  • Proficiency with identity and access management tools, managing MS Active Directory, Okta, and third-party software integrations.
  • Extensive knowledge of information systems and security frameworks (NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
  • Strong working knowledge of disciplined, systems administration best practices through all phases of systems development, testing configuration management, and production deployment.
  • Curiosity and persistence in understanding new systems and technical issue resolution is a must.
  • Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and desire to innovate.

  • Ability to handle confidential information and maintain a high level of professional confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience leading enterprise-wide IT projects and initiatives.
  • 5-10 years of experience working in a related Information Technology role, preferably with cybersecurity and cloud-based experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with AWS as an IT professional.
  • AWS certification in architecture, operation, network, security, or DevSecOps highly desired. Equivalent certification from Microsoft Azure and Google cloud Platform (GCP) also acceptable.
  • Prior experience leading managed IT service suppliers.
  • Experience in deploying, managing Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools is desired. Levering these tools for investigation preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting Alfresco, WordPress, Cloudera Hadoop preferred.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, etc., a plus.
  • Minimum travel is required for annual all-company gatherings or team design sessions (up to 5% of the time).
