Corporate Compliance Manager

Purpose

The Corporate Compliance Manager assists the Leadership Team in ensuring that AAIS and its operations and related policies and procedures are compliant with current corporate laws and regulations. This position is responsible for assisting in the development of internal controls, policies and procedures, monitoring, and documenting corporate compliance activities, and advising leadership and management on compliance matters.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement corporate policies and procedures that align with AAIS’s values and strategies.
  • Partner with leadership members and key stakeholders across the business to review and provide input into the development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and other oversight bodies.
  • Create and facilitate compliance training for all staff members periodically, or as needed.
  • Create audit programs for standardized review processes, identifying risks or non-conformity issues.
  • Manage internal, enterprise-wide audits.
  • Review policies, practices, and documents to identify weaknesses and suggest improvements.
  • Identify, investigate, and report compliance issues, or suspected compliance issues.
  • Coordinate compliance activities with various external auditors.
  • Document and maintain records of compliance testing and results.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Human Resources, Information Technology, and the Leadership Teams to direct compliance incidents for their investigation.
  • Support the CFO with activities related to the board of directors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or requested.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple channels and asynchronously in a remote-first working environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business administration, or related field.
  • 4+ years of prior experience working as a compliance manager or in a similar position. Experience working in risk management, auditing, or regulatory compliance is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of risk and compliance principles and frameworks.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand the impact of changes within industry trends, laws, and regulations.
  • Minimum travel is required for annual all-company gatherings or team sessions.
