Michael Payne is the Chief Actuary at AAIS. He leads the Actuarial Services team in conducting countrywide loss cost reviews, developing pricing for new programs, building a modernized pricing process, and fulfilling regulatory reporting obligations for our Members.

Michael brings more than 14 years of experience on the carrier side, holding actuarial pricing roles at Zurich Insurance Group and SCOR Reinsurance. Before joining AAIS in 2018, he served as Director of Underwriting Analysis at Sears Home Services.

Michael is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).

Michael has a BA in Mathematics and Psychology from Northwestern University.
