As a national, not-for-profit advisory organization under the auspices of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), AAIS serves as an intermediary between insurance carriers and insurance regulators. AAIS continuously monitors the regulatory environment for changes in the evolving P&C marketplace and alerts its Member carriers so they can navigate today’s marketplace.

Statistical Reporting
As a licensed Statistical Agent in all 51 U.S. states and jurisdictions, AAIS understands the demands on insurers for their data by external parties, like state departments of insurance. AAIS Statistical Data Management Application (SDMA) makes uploading and editing data more efficient and effective. AAIS statistical reporting services are included in AAIS Membership agreements and earn Members Preferred Pricing on their AAIS program affiliations (forms, manual rules, and rating information).
Filing Services
The AAIS Government Affairs, Legal & Compliance (GLC) team maintains a unique relationship with state and national insurance regulators, trade associations, and other industry stakeholders, positioning AAIS as a leader among policymakers that shape regulations across the country. AAIS works closely with regulators to monitor legislation, regulations, DOI activity, and court decisions and continuously delivers timely compliance alerts to our Members. Our team is also here to provide guidance on compliance updates and required actions.
